HOW TO POST IMAGES - (See maximum sizes below)
You must have your image on the web, not just on your hard drive.
Your ISP should have some space you can use (you don’t have to have a web page, you just use the space). Upload your image into the images folder and link to it.
Or you can use someone like Flickr (100MB per month) or Fotopic (250MB per year) .
Note: I suggest newbies go with flickr and make a separate gallery for use on these forums.
Upload an image of no more than 650 pixels on the longest side and under 2mb in file size (bear in mind that flickr will add a few more k to it). When you click on 'all sizes/available sizes’ (in your account) you will see the 600 x 400 (or whatever size you uploaded). Click on the size you want then Right Click on your image and select Properties and check the file size is below 2mb. If it is, choose option 1 (bottom left-hand side). Grab the photos URL. Use Copy and paste it into the Image tag box in your post
Making a new post in this forums
When you make a new post, click on Image in the ‘Instant Mark-up’ section (below the text box). Paste the URL into the box that appears and click ok. Add any comments you wish to make etc
Check the ‘I want to preview my post’ box and click ‘continue’.
Do not proceed beyond this point if the picture does not show. It means something is wrong with the address – press your back button and check the URL including the extensions are correct – note some sites won’t let you ‘hot link’.
Also do not proceed beyond this point until you have checked your image does not exceed 650 pixels on the longest side and is below 2mb – you can check by right clicking on your image and selecting Properties (Mac: click and hold down on the image, select Properties). Then checking image size and file size (see image sizes below for full details).
If the Preview Post screen shows all is correct, then click on the OK, submit button…
